Dr. Vahé Peroomian was
appointed as trustee in June, 2005. Dr. Peroomian holds a Ph.D.
in physics from the University of California at Los Angeles, where
he also received his bachelors and masters degrees, also in
physics. He has over 18 years of experience in education. |

He is currently a researcher specializing in
magnetospheric physics and space weather at the Institute of Geophysics
and Planetary Physics at UCLA, and also teaches freshman physics in the
Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCLA. Among his honors are the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration Group Achievement Award in
2003, and the UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy Outstanding
Teaching Award for the 2001 –2002, 2002 – 2003, 2003 – 2004, and 2004 –
2005 academic years. Dr. Peroomian is also a lead faculty member at
University of Phoenix, Southern California and Online campuses, where he
teaches a number of courses including Astronomy, Mathematics, and
Introduction to Research. He has also served as the Science Content
Area Chair for the Southern California campus of the University of
Phoenix.
He lives in Glendale with his wife, Caroline, and
their two children, Tara and Tadeh.
