Join us as a panel of GCC students discuss their experiences participating in several Study Abroad programs at GCC. You'll learn the good, the bad, and the "beautiful" about Study Abroad at GCC and gain first-hand knowledge about what to expect on one of these trips. Participants will also walk away from this session knowing what programs are upcoming, how to apply, and best of all, how to make them as affordable as possible! Cultural awareness is all about being aware that cultural differences and similarities exist, and letting us observe and experience these differences without labelling them as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Join us for a one-hour workshop on "Exploring and Understanding Culture," focused on deepening our understanding of diverse cultural perspectives. We’ll engage in thought-provoking activities that highlight the values, beliefs, and traditions of our communities, and foster meaningful discussions about how these perspectives shape our worldview.

The “A Walk Around the Globe” TinyTalks will see members of the GCC community provide a presentation of up to 15-minutes in length on a topic of global nature. All topics in this mini-conference format will promote learning, build intrigue, and encourage conversations that matter. A globally-inspired lunch, sponsored by a generous Glendale College Foundation grant, will be provided. Please RSVP to help us order responsibly and combat food waste.

Join us as for a quick 30-minute refresher session on traveling and re-entering the US successfully as an international student. Topics will include automatic visa revalidation, visa renewals (in your home country or a third country) and documents you need to carry. Students attending in-person may bring their I-20s for signature at the end of the workshop.

You may join this session in-person or via Zoom. If you will be joining in-person, you must RSVP here at least 24 hours before the event. If no RSVPs are received 24 hours before the event, it will switch to a Zoom-only event. Please be on time to the session you wish to attend as the sessions overlap.

Close out IEW week with your fellow GCC international students as we watch a Lakers game! This is your chance to see Laker favorites like LeBron James and Anthony Davis out on the court!

Cost: $45 cash only

Purchase: By Monday, November 18 at 12 pm (or when tickets sell out). Space is limited to 20 attendees so reserve your spot now! Purchase your ticket in the International Student Office (3rd floor, Sierra Vista). Bring exact cash and your Student ID. Please understand we cannot make change for you in the office. We also cannot accept credit card or electronic payments (i.e. Paypal or Venmo). Please come prepared to successfully purchase your tickets! First come, first served, limit one.

Ticket Policies: All GCC students are welcome! The first 10 tickets for this event are reserved for GCC international students until November 1, after which tickets will become available to all students, including those on the waitlist. Due to limited space, we cannot offer tickets to non-GCC students. No refunds. In the case that you cannot attend, you may transfer your ticket to another GCC student by visiting our office (student must accompany you to provide ID and complete trip waiver).
