The Theatre Arts Department Proudly Presents
THE FIREBUGS, by Max Frisch, Translation by Mordecai Gorelik
"A Morality Play Without a Moral"
THE FIREBUGS, translated by Mordecai Gorelik and presented off Broadway in 1963, is one of Max Frisch's most provocative and brilliant plays. Whether the play is regarded as a hilarious, almost slapstick farce or as a satirical attack against complacency depends on the point of view one brings to it. Using dramatic techniques as old as allegory and as new as the Theatre of the Absurd, Frisch reveals the actions and attitudes of people confronted with a powerful and ruthless enemy.
