On September 1, 1993 the
Chancellor's office approved a Cooperative Agencies Resources for
Education (CARE) project allocation for Glendale College, EOPS. The
goal of CARE is to reduce long term welfare dependency and support the
needs of the single parent for economic self-sufficiency. Funding
from the project will provide special services which include: special
workshops, books and supplies for classes, gas vouchers, MTA bus
passes and CARE money grants. The
following are the legal requirements for participation: 1.
At least one child under 14 years of age. 2.
Student is currently receiving CalWORKS/TANF/AFDC for any
length of time when accepted into the CARE project. 3.
At least 18 years old, single head of household. 4.
EOPS eligible and registered for 12 units during the Fall and Spring
semesters. 5. Must be in a degree,
certificate or transfer program. |
