EOPS Information:

EOPS will accept a limited number of new and returning GCC students for Spring 2009 beginning February 03, 2009. Wait listed units will not be counted for 12 units.

New students must meet the following criteria:

  • BOG Waiver "A" or "B' for 2008-2009
  • Must be a California Resident
  • Have completed less than 30 units of college coursework
  • Must have English or ESL and Math assessment scores from placement test
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher
    Not on academic or progress probation
  • Enrolled in 12 or more units for Fall 2008 (wait listed units will not be counted)
  • Educationally disadvantaged (as determined by EOPS office)
  • Complete an EOPS Student Application/Data form
  • Meet with an EOPS counselor to develop a preliminary Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Sign an EOPS Mutual responsibility contract

Once determined eligible for the EOPS program the following must be completed:

  • EOPS Student Application/Data form
  • Meet with an EOPS counselor to develop a preliminary Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Sign an EOPS contract
  • SD 100 must be taken within the first three terms of acceptance into the program
  • All students must meet with an EOPS counselor 3 times during Fall and Spring semesters and 1 time during summer/winter if enrolled!

AB 540 information for Undocumented Students:
On October 12, 2001, Governor Davis signed into law Assembly Bill 540 (Stats. 2001, ch.814) which adds a new section to the California Education Code. Section 68130.5 creates a new exemption from payment of nonresident tuition for certain nonresident students who have attended high school in California and received a high school diploma or its equivalent. Deadlines/Links

Winter 2009
Students registered in Winter 2009 session must have a ONE required contact completed during the winter intersession January 5th-February 12th
Spring 2009
Students MUST have the 3rd contact completed by June 5th to be considered for EOPS book voucher - summer/fall 2009. This includes CSD (1) and Scholars students who need to bring a study list or updated SEP from their counselor in these programs. Students enrolled in less than 12 units have until June 10th to make their three counselor contacts. These students will not be considered for an EOPS grant for spring'09 or book vouchers for summer/fall 2009.
