DRAF 280  Advanced MicroStation and 3D Applications - 4 Units

 

This second level CADD (Computer Aided Design Drawing) course provides further study in MicroStation advanced 2D applications and an introduction to 3D solid modeling, utilizing the latest versions of Modeler and Triforma. The course will emphasize basic modeling principles to create 3D solid models and design drawings for mechanical and architectural applications. Rendered surfaces and lighting will also be studied and applied to 3D models. This course benefits all students in areas of study related to Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Design, and Computer Graphics. Course may be taken once for credit towards the major and repeated 2 times for credit to enhance student skills and proficiency levels, or due to content change from software revisions and upgrades.

 

Prerequisite: DRAF 170 with a grade of C or better, or verifiable work experience and proficiency in MicroStation/J or SE.

 

Transfer credit: CSU

 

Note: This class is taught only at Rio Hondo Community College. It is not part of the courses taught at Glendale Community College.
