EEO & DEI Hiring Committee Training

The EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) & DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) hiring committee training, provided through Keenan Safe Colleges. This training covers a wide-range of topics including:

  • legal mandates pertaining to correcting statistical underrepresentation in the workplace, 
  • best practices for hiring committees, 
  • recruitment strategies that will broaden the pool of available candidates, and 
  • opportunities for creating a workplace culture where all employees feel valued and welcomed.

Talent Acquisition

Sufficient Staffing Levels to Advance Student Success New Position Process

This process outlines how new positions are proposed, reviewed, and approved to ensure sufficient staffing levels that support student success.

  • Program Review Submission

    Departments submit program review requests for new or unfilled classified, administrator, or faculty positions.

  • Committee Review and Prioritization

    IHAC, SSHAC, CHAC, and Cabinet review staffing requests within their areas, prioritize needs, and provide recommendations to Area Vice Presidents.

  • Vice President Review

    Area Vice Presidents review prioritization lists and recommend positions to the Administrative Executive Committee.

  • Administrative Executive Committee Approval

    The Administrative Executive reviews recommendations, confirms ongoing budget availability, and authorizes positions to be filled.

  • Final Approval and Communication

    The approved list of positions is shared with the College Executive Committee and the Office of Human Resources.

  • Talent Acquisition Initiation

    Human Resources, in consultation with the Administrative Executive, prioritizes approved positions and initiates the hiring process.

Sufficient Staffing Levels to Advance Student Success Replacement Position Process

This process describes the steps taken when a position becomes vacant and needs to be filled.

Vacancy Occurs
A classified or administrator position becomes vacant during the fiscal year due to employee separation.

Request to Fill Vacancy
A request is submitted to the Administrative Executive to fill the vacant position, including confirmation of available ongoing budget funds.

Executive Review and Approval
The Administrative Executive reviews the request and approves the vacancy for recruitment.

College Executive Committee Notification
The vacancy replacement is noted on the College Executive Committee agenda.

Talent Acquisition Initiation
The Office of Human Resources initiates the talent acquisition process.
