MEDICAL ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE

AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT, YOU CAN WORK IN THESE SETTINGS:

IN OUR MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM, YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Assisting doctors with exams and procedures
  • Bandaging and wound care
  • Billing and Third-Party Reimbursement 
  • CPR training
  • EHR charting
  • Performing EKGs and lab tests
  • Phlebotomy
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Sterilization Techniques
  • Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories

Has to be taken in the following order:

  • STV 212 Administrative Medical Assisting (note this class is also offered as self-paced course)
  • STV 215 Clinical Medical Assisting (note STV 212 is a prerequisite)

Final course (OPTIONAL):

  • Basic review for the California Certified Medical Assistant Exam (OPTIONAL)
    • Externship (REQUIRED if taking the California Certified Medical Assistant Exam)
