Michael L. Dixon manages the largest Amazon logistics station in the world as Station Operations Manager for Amazon Logistics. His responsibility for managing every inbound and outbound delivery operation of over 500 associates has allowed him to acquire excellence in the art of leadership and customer satisfaction. Owing to his hardworking and resolute demeanor, Michael boasts over 15 years of experience as a successful business leader and strategist who has worked with industry giants like Amazon, Wells Fargo, Toyota, Lexus, Honda and Enterprise Rent-A-Car having held various positions such as Area Remarketing Manager to Vice President of Customer Service & Operations. When not working for these companies, he pursues his passion for helping others achieve their goals by working as a professor at Glendale Community College, CA. where he teaches business and customer service skills. Outside of work, he is a loving husband to the best wife in the world and father to three amazing and talented girls.
In 2018, Michael gained enough experience to start giving back to the student community by working as a professor at Glendale Community College, CA, engaging with students to become tomorrow's leaders. Becoming an instructor – especially one that has an interactive model of instruction for his students – is a feat that is worth mentioning. Apart from the curriculum, he works hard to impart industry knowledge and soft skills that will support the young minds into becoming strong entrepreneurs and leaders who can outperform in the increasingly competitive world. His academic pursuit has just begun, and looks forward to making a positive impact in student’s lives and their future careers.
When it comes to Michael as an individual, he has learned the value of striving towards success by showcasing a good work ethic, working hard, and pushing to be the absolute best. Raised by a single mother in Koreatown, he learned to see obstacles as opportunities to overcome – he is a true proponent of what you would say, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" With this mindset, over the last few years, Michael has amassed extensive expertise working in business operations, customer relationship management, sales, project management, and developing transformative business strategies. Along with the rest of his notable achievements, he is also a professional Kaizen Certified Coach since 2011, with further awards as a Diversity & Inclusion Champion and a Green Belt in Six Sigma.
Michael strongly believes that working hard is the key to life's obstacles because, after all, it is indicative of one's discipline, passion, and desire to be better. Michael worked hard to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts degree, in History from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business. However, pushing through hurdles and impediments is not all it takes to become a force to be reckoned with (no matter the field you pick!). The art of empathy is absolutely necessary for becoming a great leader. With a strong sense of compassion, leaders can garner admiration, create passion where there is none, and provide guidance to support others in their own respective journeys. Michael has embodied these principles in his practice as a supervisor, regional head, vice president, professor, coach, husband and father. With these strong values and ethics, Michael's career progression is a perfect success story of a young man who overcame all odds to become who he is today – a visionary leader!
