Biography:
My interest in biology began as an undergraduate studying the human skeleton, which led me to pursue a Ph.D. studying vertebrate morphology and paleoanthropology. After receiving my degree, my experience teaching general biology led me to become increasingly interested in the microscopic world and all of the organisms I had ignored in my studies of large charismatic animals. No matter the organism, my passion is teaching the subject of evolution and sharing with students the countless ways in which the process has shaped the biosphere and how evolution continues to apply to their everyday lives and health.
