Acknowledgement

We would like to thank the Office of Communications and Community Relations and Information Technology teams for their time and expertise in the development of this website. Without their insight, guidance and support, this project would not have evolved into what it has become. Additionally, we would like to thank Dr. Paul Schlossman and Tzoler Oukayan for their invaluable guidance and support in this collaborative endeavor.

Some important information, tools and ideas used in this site were shared with us graciously by other colleges, some of whom have had the unfortunate experience of significant campus disruptions. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the following schools who freely shared and contributed their time, ideas, stories, experiences, and content, so that our site can be as meaningful, resourceful, and thorough as possible:

  • Villanova University
  • Florida Southwestern

This project is dedicated to the countless college and university employees who dedicate their careers to ensuring campus safety as well as those who are so committed in providing tangible assistance to individuals suffering from mental health crises. It is our hope that we can be prepared to recognize and respond responsibly to the needs of these individuals, and in turn, avoid a major campus disruption. Contributions from the above-mentioned schools played a significant role in our understanding of ways to divert a campus crisis, and we hopeful that we can learn from the traumas that some of these schools have endured to help to create a campus free from major disruptions.
