Improving Student Reading

Our initiative to help students become stronger readers is rooted in Metacognitive Routines based on the Reading Apprenticeship (RA) Framework, a research-validated, student-centered approach to helping students develop stronger reading skills. Faculty who have incorporated metacognitive routines into their classrooms report that students not only develop better literacy skills but also become more empowered and more engaged learners.  For information on current faculty development opportunities in metacognitive routines, contact Tiffany Ingle at tiffanyi@glendale.edu.
