A message from the English Division
GCC offers the right option for you as you start your college writing journey.
All students are eligible to take either English 101 or English 101+. GCC also offers options for students who may prefer additional academic support. You can also work alongside college preparatory writing experts before enrolling in English 101 or English 101+.
We recommend that if your high school GPA was less than 2.6, you take English 101+. If you have been out of high school for more than ten years or if you don’t have access to your high school GPA you can review the videos and information about our English options to find out what course is the best fit for you.
If you’re not sure what course is the best fit for you or would like additional information about English 101 or English 101+ you can contact the Division Chair, Dr. McLemore. Dr. McLemore will help you get your course questions answered. You can reach her via email at sarahm@glendale.edu or by calling (818) 240-1000 x5609.
Besides our academic resources, GCC has Academic Counselors ready to assist you in suggesting coursework, planning your education, and helping to find the right academic goal for you. They can also point you to specific counseling resources that may be available for you.
We can’t wait to see you in an English class at GCC!
Sincerely,
The English Division Faculty
