Effective July 15, 2020, the department is implementing the following policies for the Winter/Spring 2021 application process due to recent changes affected by COVID-19:
- Online labs will be accepted for science prerequisites (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology) taken during Spring 2020 and Summer 2020.
- No more than 1 repeat/substandard grade in science prerequisites. However, substandard grades (W, EW, NP, C-, D, F) in any science prerequisites (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology) taken during Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 will not count as a repeat and will not be counted towards GPA calculations.
- The overall science GPA (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology) will be a minimum of 2.0.
- The department highly recommends that students complete all prerequisite courses with letter grades, especially for Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and English 101. In the event that students choose to take this course with a "Pass/No Pass" option instead, a "P" notation on your transcript will be interpreted as a "C" in the Chancellor's Formula.
Download our prerequisite information form here. Email the department at gccnursing@glendale.edu with any questions or concerns.
