Solar Eclipse

SOLAR ECLIPSE 2024

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and blocks the Sun from view.  Depending on if some, or all of our view of the Sun is blocked, there will be either a partial, or total solar eclipse.

On April 8th, 2024, a partial solar eclipse will be observable from southern California starting at 10:06 A.M. PDT and ending at 12:22 P.M. PDT, with maximum Sun coverage at 11:12 A.M.

While there is no formal viewing party planned on campus, the city of Glendale has teamed with the Glendale library to offer an Eclipse Viewing Party at Glendale Central Library.

LIVE STREAMS

Different Organizations have delegations in places where the total solar eclipse is observable.  Watching a live stream on your device is a safe way to view the total solar eclipse.  The links below will be live on the day of the eclipse.
