Physics 103 is the third course in a three-semester sequence intended for students majoring in engineering and the physical sciences. The course is a difficult course requiring approximately 2 hours of reading and 6 hours of homework per week, in addition to time spent in lecture and lab. The course covers topics in theory of waves, acoustics, optics, thermodynamics, and modern physics. Students must have completed Physics 101, and should have a strong background in mathematics. Physics 103 may be taken prior to Physics 102.
