OCCUPATIONAL WELDING

Welding 123 is third in a series of occupational welding courses designed to prepare the student for employment in the welding industry. It covers basic preparation for welding certification, advanced metallic arc, tungsten inert gas, metal inert gas, and oxyacetylene welding, including specific welding exercises needed to prepare the student for the manipulative phase of the certification examination. Lecture 1 hours, laboratory 6 hours.
Prerequisite: Welding 122 or equivalent.
Recommended preparation: Eligibility for English 120 or ESL 151.
Note: This course may be taken 3 times; a maximum of 15 units may be earned.
