Associate in Arts for Transfer - Art History

The Associate in Arts in Art History for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy lower division requirements for a baccalaureate degree in Art History at a California State University. The knowledge and skills offered in this degree lead students to develop foundational knowledge in the field of art history including those topics and issues related to global, national, and local aspects of the field of study. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to identify major topics, developments, debates, and issues of art history; apply their knowledge of key concepts in art history to discuss, analyze, and synthesize a variety of theoretical and practical foci within the discipline; and gain a global, national, and local perspective on issues pertaining to art history preparing them for multiple pathways to future study and career opportunities.
The Art History AA-T degree requires: completion with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all of the 60 CSU-transferable semester units; completion of the major and the CSU General Education (40 units) or IGETC (37-39 units) requirements.
All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
