Associate in Science for Transfer - Film, Television and Electronic Media

The AS-T in Film, Television and Electronic Media is designed to prepare the student for transfer to four year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy lower-division requirements for a baccalaureate degree in Film, Television, and Media or related fields. The knowledge and skills offered in this degree lead students to develop foundational knowledge in the field of Media Arts including those topics and issues related to global, national, and local aspects of the field of study. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, the students will have the skill to apply concepts of composition, film language and lighting techniques to support the creative vision of the director; collaborate effectively as a member of a team to achieve the challenges of technical and conceptual goals of a project from origination to the completion of the high quality final deliverable media production; utilize conceptual editing techniques to support storytelling and solve story problems through the use of editing dialogue, sound design, music, and sound effects to complete the creation of the master for final deliverables.

The Film, Television and Electronic Media AS-T degree requires completion of the major and the CSU General Education (40 units) or IGETC (37-39 units) requirements.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
