Associate in Arts for Transfer - History

The Associate of Arts in History for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy the lower division requirements for the Baccalaureate Degree in History at a California State University. The knowledge and skills offered in this degree lead students to develop foundational knowledge in the field of history including those topics and issues related to global, national, and local aspects of the field of study. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will engage in wide reading, deep thinking, and clear communication about the vast record of human experience. Students will learn how to discover facts, weigh interpretations, and draw conclusions in order to comprehend the present, envision alternative scenarios, and identify with generations to come.

The History AA-T degree requires completion of the major and the CSU General Education (40 units) or IGETC (37-39 units) requirements.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
