Music

This degree is designed to help students entering the music field or pursuing an undergraduate degree in music. Students will develop musical artistry and proficiency, learn to analyze and recognize musical patterns, and gain a breadth of knowledge of our diverse musical world. These music courses are designed to help students think, create, and collaborate in a critical, expressive, and articulate manner. Students must complete the required courses and choose additional courses to total a minimum of 26 units. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to apply intermediate to advanced music theory, musicianship and analytical skills to music. Students will develop a knowledge of music history and demonstrate intermediate to advanced keyboard competency. Students will perform in at least one major performance area at a level appropriate for their particular music concentration.

All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
