Internships: seek opportunities in accounting or finance firms, even tax businesses. Internships in accounting or financing are usually available in most businesses and organizations, like sales, entertainment, or banks. Gain college credits by enrolling in BUSAD 50 or CO ED 101 for work and internships
Volunteer: talk to tax firms before tax season about the opportunity to volunteer
Tax Season: part time work during tax season is usually available
Work: look for clerical work in your related field
Networking and Shadowing: find exposure by shadowing an area of interest with the field
Industry Certifications: You can receive a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and/or a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) although both need a Bachelor’s Degree and certification. An Enrolled Agent does not need a 4 year degree and can work by just passing licensing exam through IRS.
