Education: You will need a Bachelor’s degree before you move to Med/Dental/Pharm school. Talk to your counselor about transfer pathways.
Internships: Look for opportunities in a lab, medical center, or working with patients. Get college credit for an internship using the CO ED 101 course.
Volunteer: A hospital or other clinical sites are a really good fit. Also labs are good prep work too. You can look at family shelters, homeless shelters, and other community service experiences.
Clinical and Research Experience: For most med schools, it is recommended to get 1000 hours of clinical experience and 1000 hours of research experience. This can happen with professors and publications. This can also be found in the Bio 50/298 courses
Shadowing: Look for a specific area of interest in the Med/Dental/Pharm field to learn more about.
Mentorship and Networking: It is important to start meeting people in your industry so you have someone to ask questions to and to possibly mentor you.
