Volunteer: Use events on campus or off with clubs, organizations, and associations to volunteer to gain experience. An example at GCC is the Maker Faire
Internships and Apprenticeships: Seek opportunities to learn directly in your field. Look for professionals willing to train, supervise an internship, or bring you on as an apprentice
Networking: Gain connections in your field of choice. Build network and people in industry known. Use professors and other networks to meet new people
Coursework: Obtain specific subject knowledge in courses, certifications, or learning experiences
Industry Certifications: Research what state or association certifications/licensing are needed for that specific work
Graduate School: Research the education needed for your chosen career. Advanced degrees may be necessary for employment.
