MESA is for Calculus-based STEM students who meet the following eligibility:

  • Declare a calculus-based major in math, science, or engineering
  • Plan to take two consecutive STEM courses after pre-calculus and Calculus I
  • Are from an academically or financially underserved, disproportionately identified (D.I.) student groups
  • First-generation in college student (parents do not have BA's or higher)  
  • Are economically impacted (example: receiving CCC Promise grant fee waiver and/or Pell grant/Financial Aid)
  • Plan to transfer to a four-year institution (must not already hold a Bachelor's degree)
  • Be a U.S. citizen, resident, or AB 540/DACA
  • GPA of 2.2 or higher

You are a Calculus-based STEM Student if you are majoring in any of the following:
Biology | Biochemistry | Chemistry | Computer Science | Engineering | Math | Physics | Pre-Med | Geology
