The purpose of cultural programming at GCC is to engage students, faculty, staff, and administration on the current political and social environment which impacts the campus community and the populations which we serve. The Cultural Diversity Coordinator employs an equity framework to organize programming that aims to be responsive to current events and student needs, organizes events which celebrate diversity, and plans around the cultural calendar recognized by the National Education Association.

The current Cultural Diversity Coordinator for 2022-2025 is Carla Ruiz. Carla also serves as an academic counselor  where she works with students in Academic Recovery (formerly probation). She also teaches Student Development. She can be reached at cruiz@glendale.edu.
