Need help resetting your MyGCC password or using MyGCC to add/drop a course? Click here for step-by-step videos or visit the Welcome Center or Vaquero Success Center for in-person guidance. ISO does not have access to MyGCC and cannot help you troubleshoot technical issues. If you are having technical issues, please complete the MyGCC Issue Contact Form on the MyGCC page for assistance.

Note: Counseling is reserved for current or newly admitted international students. Prospective students and new applicants, please email your questions to: gcciso@glendale.edu so that our admissions team can assist you. For online drop-in or online appointments, please review the Successful Online Counseling Preparation section below to ensure you have a good experience.

Drop-in Counseling

Please use drop in to ask general questions and be connected to an available academic counselor or immigration advisor, if needed. Drop-in academic or immigration counseling is intended for short discussions (10-15 minutes) and should NOT require an appointment (see the section on appointments below and request an appointment instead, if needed).

In-Person Drop In Schedule:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm PT

Friday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm PT (Academic Counseling ends at 3 pm)

Fall Online Drop In Schedule:

Monday to Friday: 10:00 am - 3 pm PT

Appointments

Appointments may be arranged only for the specific issues listed below. For all other issues/questions, please use drop-in counseling.

To request an appointment, please complete the Appointment Request Form. An appointment will be scheduled for you no earlier than 48 hours in advance, depending on counselor availability. If you have an urgent need that can not wait at least 48 hours, please use drop-in counseling.

Academic Counseling Appointment (30, 45 or 60 minutes):

Student Educational Plans (SEP)/Course Advice/Follow Up Questions

Academic Probation Contract, Dismissal, Renewals/Reinstatements

Concurrent Enrollment Requests (to simultaneously study at another school)

Graduation Petitions or Reduced Course Load Form Completions

Pre-requisite Clearance Reviews

Academic Renewal/Reinstatement

I-20 Extension or Major Change Requests

Transcript Evaluations

Immigration Advising Appointment (15, 30 or 60 minutes):

General questions not already answered online (15 minute appt)

Financial Hardship: Consultations for Options

OPT applications (requires pre-clearance)

Severe Economic Hardship Application (requires pre-clearance)

Reinstatement - F-1 Status (requires pre-clearance)

Change of Status to F-1 (Admitted Students only; requires pre-clearance)

Successful Online Counseling Preparation

PLEASE READ BEFORE THE ONLINE COUNSELING APPOINTMENT:

Make sure you meet the technical requirements listed.
- Please review Zoom's technical requirements page.
- If this is your first appointment, it is highly recommended that you Download the Zoom Client and set up an account. Please make sure your display name is your full legal name.
The use of a private computer is strongly encouraged. If using a public/shared computer take all necessary measures to protect your data at the end of the appointment (e.g. clear download/browsing history, sign-out, etc.).
Please log on 5 minutes before the appointment time. Please have a form of identification ready to show the counselor. (Student ID, Driver’s License, etc.). Please allow your counselor up to 5 minutes after your appointment time to join, as they may be in back to back appointments. Do not exit the link or you will not be able to use it to re-join.
Be in a quiet location with proper lighting and ensure no interruptions - do not answer phone calls, texts or surf the web during the appointment. Give your full attention and respect to the counselor.
Dress appropriately, just as if you were coming in to the office. We can still see you :).
