International Student Insurance

At Glendale Community College, we take your well being seriously. In the US, health insurance is needed to guarantee access to healthcare at all times. As a GCC student, you also have access to quality medical and emotional care at the Student Health Center. To ensure your health, all international students are automatically enrolled in our affordable international student insurance plan.

The insurance is an accident & sickness plan, meaning you must be showing symptoms of an illness or injury for medical treatment to be covered. You will find a plan snapshot and information on properly using your insurance plan below. Please download your plan summary or call the insurance company if you need to check if specific procedures will be covered; The GCC Health Center cannot answer questions about your coverage:

Students in the US for Fall 2024 received a welcome email from Student Insurance (studentinsurance@robinassist.com) containing your insurance cards, plan and prescription information, and 24/7 customer service information. For the Plan Summary, and Snapshot of the coverage please click on the “Downloads” tab from the insurance portal in the bottom of the page. Students are encouraged to review the plan detail and watch the Student Insurance Meeting Overview Recording above to learn about how to use your plan. 

 

Adding Dependents

If you have to add a dependent, please make sure you are enrolled in the plan. To add a dependent, please click on the Pay Now tab to add a spouse or a child from the insurance portal. Make sure to choose the Fall coverage option. The deadline to add a dependent is Friday, September 30. Any questions regarding dependent enrollment should be directed to SI (see the direct contact information on the "2024-2025 Highlight Sheet" that you can download from the Insurance Portal).

 

OPT Student Enrollment

To enroll in the plan as a current OPT student please click on “Contact Us for a Quote based on coverage period” tab from the insurance portal.  Make sure to choose the Fall coverage option. After your enrollment in the plan, you can then add your dependent(s) through the insurance portal. Any questions regarding dependent enrollment should be directed to SI (see the direct contact information on the "2024-2025 Highlight Sheet" that you can download from the Insurance Portal). You may enroll yourselves at any time

 

 

 

International Mental Health Support. All GCC students are encouraged to seek medical and emotional care at the Student Health Center. If you are currently located in your home country, you can check out additional resources on Suicide Stop, which has therapy resources and a worldwide list of hotlines organized by country. Many of these programs also have chat and email functions!

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is offering iPrevail FREE to all LA County residents.  iPrevail is an online mental health resource residents can use 24/7 to get support.  Connect with trained peer specialists, join a community support group or try out one of the many digital programs.  Sign up for your free iPrevail subscription at https://lacounty.iprevail.com/.
