What is the CVC-OEI?
The California Virtual Campus (CVC) - Online Education Initiative (OEI) allows you to search for and enroll in online courses offered at California Community Colleges. You can also learn more about degrees and certificates offered completely online.
How it works:
All ADT/AA/AS/CTE transfer fully-online courses are offered through the CVC_OEI Exchange. A student searches for a course, applies to the college, and then takes the online course to 'finish their degree/certificate faster'. If the online course is cross-listed in the OEI, the student does not need to apply to the college in order to take the online course - therefore, 'finishing their degree/certificate even FASTER!'
Peer Online Course Review (POCR):
If you are a distance education faculty member interested in earning an incentive for participating in our Local Peer Online Course Review (POCR) process to align your 100% asynchronous course with the Online Education Initiative (OEI) Course Design Rubric so that it can be offered in the California Virtual College (CVC) Exchange.
Completing the POCR Process and earning a Quality Reviewed “Badge” for your OEI Rubric aligned course will help it rise to the top of the student search results in the Exchange and CA Community College students will be able to register for your course without applying to be a GCC student.
Please contact the Lead POCR, Nune Dervishian (ndervishian@glendale.edu), with questions on course alignment options.
