El Vaquero is the student newspaper of Glendale Community College, serving the wide interests and information needs of a diverse student body of more that 25,000 full-time and part-time students. It publishes eight times each semester with a multitalented staff of 15 to 20 students.
The paper trains and develops writers, editors, photographers and design artists in the process of producing a publication that has gained praise from throughout the college community. There is a preparatory class, Reporting the News (Journalism 102), that most students take before joining the staff of the newspaper (Journalism 103 and 104).
If you have an innate curiosity in what goes on around you and a love for words, pictures or computer graphics, you are encouraged to join El Vaquero!
