Project Angel Food
The grant LOVE project and Oscar de la Renta have joined forces to raise funds for a COVID-19 Emergency Food Fund. Project Angel Food’s Emergency Food Kits include three weeks of frozen and shelf stable meals
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and are unable to independently access healthy food, you qualify for the home-delivered meal program.

Eligible clients receive free food, clothing, toiletries, books, toys, furniture, and other household items. Pregnant women are provided layettes and other available infant care items. Hot showers and haircuts are provided on Thursdays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Hot breakfast is also served Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

The YWCA Glendale has repurposed its existing Community Lending Library Box on the corner of Lexington Drive and Geneva Street to meet the needs of its most vulnerable neighbors during the COVID-19 public health crisis and Shelter in Place Order.
Non- perishable food items will be stocked daily from Monday-Friday. Community members are invited to take what they need from the box – and to donate items to the box for others. The YWCA asks that everyone respect the six foot social distancing health recommendation as they retrieve items.

Student Loans
If your student loans are held by the federal government, you won’t have to make a payment until after Sept. 30 and interest will be waived during that time. Also, federal collection efforts on defaulted student loans have been paused.
Relief for Immigrants
$125-million relief effort for immigrants without legal status will provide cash grants to individuals and families in need. Gov. Newsom said the proposal will offer $500 cash grants for individuals in the U.S. illegally and up to $1,000 for families, with applications set to be accepted starting next month.
The money will be dispersed through regional nonprofit groups with experience serving people who are in the country illegally, the governor said.
