GCC has partnered with several local business, non-profits and on-campus programs to provide internship opportunities in Kinesiology.

In order to qualify for an internship, students must:

  • Have approval from a Kinesiology Faculty Advisor (advisor will provide permission code to register)
  • Interview and be accepted at their internship site of choice
  • Complete required on-site hours, assignments, advisor meetings and self-evaluations by the end of the term

Internships are great for the self-motivated student who wants to get more hands-on experience in Kinesiology and related fields. Some of our past internship sites have included local fitness studios, gyms and boot camps, CSUN’s 3WINs Fitness program, or GCC’s own Athletic Training, Adapted Physical Education and Staff/Faculty Wellness programs.

"I felt a great connection with the staff and the clients at Fit Body Boot Camp.  I learned a lot from this experience and is really overwhelming to see it come to an end. I will not necessarily see it as the end, but more as a beginning in my chapter in life as a Fitness Specialist.  I made great friendships with the staff that I surely will come by and visit every once in a while. Sal, my lead coach, has been an exceptional person who has giving me great advice to further my knowledge in the industry and to keep on working on improving myself as a great trainer. Not only has he been a great leader, but he also has become a friend whom I will continue to learn from as a succeed in life as a trainer." -Jesus A. Internship at Fit Body Bootcamp Monrovia
