Welcome to the Physics Department!

The physics department serves a variety of students pursuing careers in not only physics but also chemistry, biology, health care, and engineering. Our mission is to provide our students with a strong theoretical foundation in physics as well as practical experience with scientific methodology and equipment.  Our mission also includes the following:

  • Prepare students for transfer to competitive universities.
  • Train students to think analytically, to reason logically, and to solve complex problems systematically.
  • Empowers students to make decisions in a world that is increasingly dominated by science and technology.
  • Provide a learning environment that inspires students and nourishes their curiosity.

Student Independent Research Intern (SIRI)
