Cynthia Dicken

Cindy Dicken is an acclaimed performer, educator and director. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Mt. San Antonio College, El Camino College, Glendale Community College and Concordia University Irvine.

She has worked as a session singer on over 50 films such as Spider-Man 1-3, Armageddon, Star Trek, Wall-E, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Ice Age, and was one of five featured a cappella singers on the score of the TV show, Glee. She has also been featured onscreen and on the score of TV shows such as Nip/Tuck, The Drew Carey Show, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons and Ally McBeal.

Cindy has had the honor to sing on albums for artists such as Barbra Streisand, Linkin Park, Michael Buble and Richard Carpenter. She has sung on commercials for Visa, True Value Hardware, Burger King and The Walt Disney Company, as well as countless publishing demos for The Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation.

Some other career highlights were singing for Danny Elfman’s wedding at the Los Angeles Cathedral, assistant directing a children’s choir for Linkin Park’s concert in Los Angeles, singing on the Oscars broadcast hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, which included singing backup for Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson, and performing with Imogen Heap on her concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in 2010. Cindy taught at Santa Monica College for 12 years, where her vocal ensembles won two DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards. The ensemble also had the honor of performing at the 2008 International Association of Jazz Education International Convention in Toronto, ON, as well as at The New York Voices Jazz Festival in 2012 and on the Christmas Day broadcast for Fox Sports in 2005. Cindy has adjudicated concert choirs, vocal jazz groups and show choirs at festivals including the Cuesta College Jazz Festival, Miracosta College’s Oceanside Jazz Festival, the Val Verde Jazz Festival, the Fullerton Jazz Festival, the UNC Jazz Festival, CHSAA Show Choir/Vocal Jazz/ A Cappella festival, Brandon Jazz Festival, Forum Music Festivals, Musical Theatre Competitions of America, SCVA Vocal Jazz Festival and for the TIME organization in Edmonton, Alberta.
