Marissa has been a freelance trumpet player in Los Angeles for 34 years. She currently is principal trumpet for The Pasadena Symphony/Pasadena Pops, acting principal for Long Beach Symphony/Pops, principal trumpet for Orchestra Santa Monica. She plays regularly with The Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and other Los Angeles area orchestras. She is one of the founding members of The Modern Brass Quintet who perform throughout the Los Angeles area.
Marissa can be heard on over 175 Motion Picture and Television recordings including Rogue One, Moana, Spider-Man, Avatar, and Indiana Jones IV just to name a few. She can also be heard on the Television sound tracks for Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Jag and Commander in Chief, The NBC Sports Theme, Galavant and Agent Carter.
Along with her busy playing career, Marissa is on faculty at Cal State San Bernardino, Glendale Community College, The Colburn School of Performing Arts, coaches at many local high schools and has a private studio of over 20 students.
