Theatre Arts 111
Theatre Arts 111 introduces students to the proper use and maintenance of the voice on stage primarily through the use of the Linklater Technique. The main goal of the course is to help students free their "natural voice" in order to perform on stage with vocal freedom, safety, and control. Emphasis will be placed on the vocal theory and the basic mechanics of vocal production technique.
LECTURE: 3 hours
PREREQUISITE: None.

Explain how to maintain vocal health.
Demonstrate ability to connect emotionally to dramatic text with the voice.
Demonstrate articulation and pronunciation appropriate to specific text in performance.
Exhibit ability to speak in an expressive, clear, and professional manner in performance.
