Photographic Lighting

This certificate prepares students to be marketable for entry-level employment in professional photographic assisting and lighting design. Many practicing photographers attend classes to refine and update their existing skills. Courses encourage students to pursue individual projects while developing their technical ability.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to create a cohesive photographic project that is conceptually and technically well developed; and create, evaluate and integrate use of available and studio lighting into their photographic practice.
