The AS-T in Mathematics provides students with a strong academic foundation in the
field and preparation for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed
the AS-T in Mathematics will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer
into Mathematics or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University
system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for
your transfer institution.
Requirements to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT): 1. Completion of 60 semester
units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University,
including both of the following: a. The California General Education Transfer Curriculum
(Cal-GETC). b. A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in the major or
area of emphasis with a grade of C or better. A “P” (Pass) grade is also an acceptable
grade for courses in the major or area of emphasis. 2. Obtainment of a minimum grade
point average of 2.0.
Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to evaluate limits, derivatives and integrals; solve theoretical problems and prove theorems
using calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra; and solve application
problems in math and science using calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra.
