Nick Garnik Sahakyan, Professor of Armenian, has taught at Glendale College since 2004. He is delighted to be transmitting his love of language and literature to students, to exchange ideas with them, and indeed, was privileged to be named Teacher of the Year in 2010. He participates in Armenian community's cultural life. His Master's Degree, from Yerevan State University, culminated in a thesis entitled The Aesthetic Views of Grigor Artsruni. He has published two novels in the Armenian language: "The Taste of Moonlight" and "Treasures of The Temple Gisaneh;" the latter has been named "The best novel of the year in Diaspora," by The Booklovers Club of Armenia and is currently being translated into English. Mr. Sahakyan's interests, besides Armenian, Russian and English literature, include history and mythology.
