Transfer to a LGBTQ+ CSU/UC

It is imperative that academic institutions provide counselors that can sensitively respond to the needs of students who are LGBTQ+. Often times, students are fearful in speaking about the challenges that come along with having an LGBTQ+ identity and so, their ability to reach their personal and academic goals can suffer.

It is important that Pride Centers exist on college campuses and provide both collegiate and mental health counseling as these two components will pave the path for students to succeed. At the very least, many colleges now provide Safe Zone Trainings to faculty and staff and those who attend earn a safe zone sticker to display in their offices as indicators of being LGBTQ+ friendly people.

Students are encouraged to check out the list of California four-year colleges that have either Pride Centers and/or Safe Zone Trainings:

Universities of California (UC's)
