promiseplus+ FREE TUITION

GCC’s exclusive Promise Plus program provides free tuition during a guided, first-and second-year experience designed to help students successfully complete their college education. As soon as the summer/fall 2024 application for GCC is available through CCCApply, you can follow the required steps below to start the process of applying to our program.

BENEFITS INCLUDE:
  • Free tuition for up to 2 years
  • Dedicated Promise Plus counselors and peer mentors
  • Priority registration in reserved classes for students
  • Special classes to help students identify future majors and careers
  • Success Activities & Submission Forms: Events and workshops emphasizing personal, academic, and professional growth
  • Summer Bridge program to support college transition

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Apply to GCC for summer/fall 2024
    High school graduates who had an ID number from before must reapply as a high school graduate
     
  2. Submit 2024-2025 FAFSA/CADA application for financial aid 
    Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR California Dream Act Application (CADAA) with GCC's federal school code (001203)

  3. Request counseling appointment
    GCC will contact you to schedule an appointment with a promise plus counselor after you submit your request form

  4. Attend GCC full-time with at least 12-credits
    Students may still qualify with fewer units with academic accommodations from GCC's Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS)

  5. Register & complete Summer Bridge with a passing grade: Student Development course as orientation
