Alternative Testing accommodations are provided to eligible DSPS-registered students. Alternative Testing accommodations may include, but are not limited:

  • Distraction Reduced Testing Environment
  • Extended Time
  • Assistive Technology such as Text-to-Speech or Speech-to-Text software/program
  • Alternative Formats such as Enlarged Print or Braille

Students approved for Alternative Testing accommodations must request exam appointments (quizzes, exam, tests, final exams) through the DSPS Vaqueros Student Portal.

To ensure timely coordination, please adhere to the following deadlines:

  • Regular Exams: Schedule at least 5 days in advance
  • Final Exams: Schedule at least 10 days in advance

Early scheduling allows DSPS and your instructor(s) sufficient time to communication and coordinate your approved alternative testing accommodations.

Assessments (quizzes, exams, tests, final exams) should be scheduled at the same date and time as the class is scheduled to take the assessment. Request to take an assessment at an alternate date/time requires instructor approval, unless the student has a conflicting class schedule and/or disability-related reason. Please note that DSPS may only support alternate date/time requests for verified disability-related reasons or because of a conflicted class schedule.

Review the DSPS Alternative Testing Policies and Procedures.

ARC has a full-time professional for students who want assistance with any level Math course.
