Welcome to Glendale Community College! First things first - here are the basics to get you ready to go for the first day of class.  For questions, contact your Division Chair or John Fuhrmann (jfuhrman@glendale.edu), the Adjunct Support Coordinator.

  • The very first thing to do is get your email account set up. Once you complete your paperwork with Human Resources, they will send a notification to your personal email address that your new GCC email has been set up along with your username and temporary password. This usually takes up to 3 days.  If you don’t hear anything, contact Donna Diamond (ddiamond@glendale.edu) in Human Resources.

  • To access your GCC email, navigate to http://outlook.com/owa/glendale.edu and enter your credentials.  You can also use MS Outlook (free for GCC instructors), smartphone email, and other platforms or have GCC email forwarded to another account. Contact Information Technology Services, ITS (help@glendale.edu, 818-240-1000 xHELP, LB 113) for more information.

  • The mailroom is located in AD 147. Please check your mail regularly, as this may be where you receive offers of future employment, your copy of your evaluation, occasional late assignments from students, etc.

  • If you need help with sending or receiving email, or with any classroom equipment, please contact ITS at: On campus: EXT 4357 (HELP). Off campus: 818-240-1000 x4357 (HELP)

Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Or stop by room LB 113 on the lower level of the Library Building (LB). You may also email the Help Desk at help@glendale.edu.

  • Computer carts on campus use a combination lock. Please get this combination from your division chair or from ITS. Please keep the combination private.

  • You may also stop by ITS in room LB 113 to use a computer and printer for the purposes of class preparation.

  • Once you are processed by HR and officially in the system, your division chair can assign you a class in PeopleSoft. Once that happens, you can log into PeopleSoft and see your class schedule, rosters, etc.  Sometimes your class won’t show up in PeopleSoft until a week before classes start.  If it doesn’t show up by then, contact your division chair.

  • Here are the steps to access PeopleSoft:

  1. Navigate to www.glendale.edu
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Facalty & Staff”
  3. Select the “PeopleSoft Faculty” button
  4. Log in using email username in ALL CAPS
  5. Use PeopleSoft password, which is not necessarily your email password (make sure your turn off caps)
  6. For questions, contact ITS (help@glendale.edu, 818-240-1000 xHELP)

Once your class is visible in PeopleSoft, it should automatically be visible in Canvas. Use your email credentials to log on to Canvas.  To access Canvas, navigate to www.glendale.edu and select “Canvas” from the options at the top of the page.  There is additionally a Canvas app available for Android and iOS devices.  For 24/7 help with Canvas, call 1-833-544-3019.  You can also find information in the Canvas Instructor Guide.   Finally, there is an entire section in the GCC DE Faculty Resource Shell devoted to Canvas.  Just enroll in the shell and then look for the "All Things Canvas" button.  Note that you will not be able to log in to Canvas until email is setup.  There is also lots of useful information about setting up Canvas in the Instructional Support Resources Canvas Shell
